The NU-OMICS DNA Sequencing Research Facility at Northumbria University was established in 2012. The lab is directed by Professor Darren Smith and staffed by experienced scientists led by Senior Scientific Officer Dr Andrew Nelson. We are a research led facility and work from sample through to sequencing and analysis. The scientists at NU-OMICS have a wealth of experience processing a wide range of projects and can therefore support research and add value at any stage. 

NU-OMICS has stayed at the forefront of sequencing since its establishment, offering the latest technology from Illumina, Pacific Biosciences, and Oxford Nanopore. In addition to our standard services, we can discuss and tailor bespoke solutions to meet your research needs.  In collaboration, we can help the development of projects from proof of concept through to completion.
